The Texas Based Indie Hip-Hop Artist known as Stitchlip, A.K.A. Levi Glassrock is back, once again in the mix, with Overflowin, his second full length album, available on Stitchlips House, his own self-ran independent label.
Coming from a life & times as a street artist, many say the most prolific in the state of Texas, since the year 2000. He is widely known for his cartoon character Stitchlip, also his Rap name, & a collection of oil pastels, his signature series, which most people know him by. A recording artist since the age of 17, These 10 songs were professionally recorded & Produced by Levi himself in his home studio during the year 2011.
This is a continuation of what the artist was attempting with the first album but with some definite differences in the overall style,this is a collection of very personal Songs & ballads with spiritually charged lyrics that seem like they were taken from a private journal of the artist like "Angry Son" & some are more like pop anthems with a more universal appeal,such as "Feelin" or "Magic Wand". All the material seems to show evidence of an improvement in the song structures with more detailed, added parts & segments in songs. There is an obvious internal struggle going on inside the artist, where by listening you become a close companion to him , this is why the artist has a desire to create music to share with the world..
There is an unpredictable nature about the lyrics & a diversity in the musical styles in this album that anyone can sense is unique, & assuredly no accident, Levi's broad range of influence as a singer songwriter, emcee, paved the way to where he is at today!
Levi's production work is second to none, fearless beats & rhythms merge with post-hardcore influenced melodys, where rock & roll meets hip-hop meets shoegaze, & electro-pop, a truly interesting, well thought out, multi-genre piece of work here.
